When my eyes adjusted to the darkness of the entrance I immediately looked up. Not a believer in guide books or touristy research I had no sene of what to expect when I went in. You could say my spiritual beliefs were agnostic at best and completely unaware at worst. I liked how I felt in the old churches and cathedrals and I liked the art but I wasn’t there to find anything. Some mysterious energetic sensation overcame my brain and found me. When I gazed up at the oculus and felt this sensation like a head full of pepper, I had never felt anything like this in my life. It was unexpected and overwhelming, frightening even. It was the beginning of a spiritual emergency that led me to the Thirty-Seven Bodhisattva Practices.

At this time when the difficult to gain ship of leisure and fortune has been obtained, ceaselessly hearing, pondering and meditating day and night in order to liberate oneself and others from the ocean of cyclic existence is the Bodhisattva’s practice.”

We visited the Pantheon in 1993, and when I returned to Toronto I began to take yoga classes. A friend gave me Chogyam Trungpa’s book on the Sacred Path of the Spiritual Warrior. My dreams became extraordinary, and I began lucid dreaming through consistent journaling of my nocturnal journeys.
